Mr. Derek Nagy

Business Manager

Derek Nagy is the business manager of My Veterinary Career and assumed day-to-day operations of the company in August 2016. Derek has worked at the American Animal Hospital Association since 2012 as a Product Marketing Manager for Membership. Before that, Derek worked for nine years at the University of Denver. A proud graduate of Colorado State University, Derek earned an MBA from the University of Denver in 2010. He and his wife Amy have four children, Lyla, Claire, Julia and Andrew, a beagle named Bogie and a cat named Sophie, and live in Lakewood, Colo. The MVC team strives to provide every client with concierge-level service and are personal vested in making the right match for each practice.

In his free time Derek enjoys running around with his children, spending time with family, playing golf, and cheering on the CSU Rams

Hiring Specialist

Catie brings years of veterinary experience to My Veterinary Career after serving the veterinary industry as a large animal veterinary technician and pharmaceutical sales representative. Her in-depth knowledge of the industry, garnered from calling upon such a wide-range of practices, allows Catie to offer our team insight into different management philosophies, staff optimization strategies, and hiring/training methods. Catie has called the southeast U.S. home for more than 15 years and utilizes her familiarity with the area, practices, and professionals to promote MVC’s goal of finding the best match for each of our clients.

In her free time, Catie enjoys riding her horse, yoga, and surfing. Her son, husband, three dogs, tortoise, and a tankful of fish also keep her busy!

Management Hiring Specialist

Tina began her work in the veterinary industry during her high school and college years where she honed her skills as a small and exotic animal technician. After finishing her education, her primary focus was high-risk equine foaling and general equine wellness. Her many years of “in the trenches” experience at small and mixed practices includes conflict management, scheduling, logistics, inventory, hiring strategies and marketing. Tina understands the importance of creating a healthy work environment, and is excited about the opportunity to inspire and coach employees to reach their full potential, resulting in highly motivated, positive and productive team members.

Tina and her husband enjoy traveling to spend time with their six grown children. In their downtime, they prefer a quiet trail ride, hike or camping expedition in the majestic mountains or coastal ranges of Southern Oregon.

Darla’s extensive experience in business and an entrepreneurial spirit has influenced her in opening several successful small businesses from the ground floor, including an engineering employment agency and a career counseling/resume writing company. She has been in the staffing industry for twenty five years and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in assisting hiring managers/doctors match successful placements from small to Fortune 500 companies and currently for veterinary practices of all sizes and specialities. Her love of animals, intuition, leadership & communication skills, and genuine concern for her clients and candidates has contributed to her journey with My Veterinary Career.

Darla spends her spare time doing yoga, gardening, reading and puppy sitting for her daughter’s precocious Cockapoo.
